Carl Adams – Global Director of Legal AI (Exigent)

I focus on delivering innovative business performance and risk management optimization solutions for our clients by combining creative thinking, legal expertise and commercial acumen with technology assisted and data driven contract management and auditing techniques. In addition, I serve as in-house counsel for Exigent by providing advice on a broad range of internal and external contract reviews, negotiations and drafting needs, as well as managing legal and commercial risk and regulatory compliance. John Albright is a commercially-centered legal and compliance executive with leadership experience in public, private and private equity-owned companies. In serving as general counsel for a number of multinational corporations in complex and vastly different industry segments, Mr. Albright has a proven record of building and leading efficient and effective legal departments in environments ranging from the highly regulated, to a global concern that often resembled the culture of a technology start-up.

With significant exposure to business process outsourcing, data analytics and related technology platforms, Mr. Albright has become a thought leader and frequent speaker on cyber risk and in promoting the use of analytics, artificial intelligence and process automation in the delivery of legal services. He has similarly worked with law schools to identify emerging skills gaps, as graduates are increasingly expected to be knowledgeable in not only the law, but also in legal operations and IT.

Through his support of the acquisition and sale of numerous companies valued in excess of $20 billion, Mr. Albright has significant experience in strategic transactions and even served as an Integration Manager responsible for running and integrating acquired entities. In his current role, he manages a team of attorneys that supports 60+ acquisitions a year. He has similarly overseen global expansion into Europe, Australia, China, South America and India, led two IPO teams, supported the issuance of secondary public offerings and completed multi-billion-dollar debt financings.

Jon Evans – Director of Solutions Architecture (Impact Networking, LLC)

Jon has been solving problems and crafting solutions with technology since the 90s. In that time, he helped develop a content management system for fledging ecommerce businesses before sites like Amazon became a household name, and founded a video streaming startup where he oversaw a global team of over 30 people. Laura Maechtlen – Partner (Seyfarth Shaw LLP)

Laura J. Maechtlen is the National Chair of the Labor and Employment Department at Seyfarth Shaw LLP and Co-Chair of the Firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Action Team.  Her practice is focused on employment litigation and includes the defense of class, collective and multi-plaintiff actions.  Laura also has experience litigating against the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) in systemic actions, both at the early charge stage and in large-scale EEOC pattern-and-practice litigation.  In addition to her litigation practice, Laura also provides day-to-day counseling and advice to clients about the various laws affecting the employment relationship.
